This is the first time that fans can have the first glimpse of Tom Hardy as Bane which was taken from the official website of the big budget superhero flick. Hardy is seen wearing just a mask and has apparently bulked to portray the juggernaut. The actor was handpicked by Nolan after they have previously worked on the 2010 science fiction film Inception and got impressed for playing the identity forger Eames. In fact, Nolan was impressed by the cast of the dream bending flick, he has signed on the other cast members to join the project. Joining Hardy are Joseph-Gordon Levitt as John Blake, a Gotham City beat cop and Oscar winner Marion Cotillard (La Vie en Rose) as Miranda Tate, a member of the Wayne Enterprise board who will help Bruce Wayne in his philanthropic deeds. Michael Caine who has appeared in the Inception and the previous Batman films will reprise his role as Bruce’s trusted butler Alfred Pennyworthy. Hardy has appeared in several other movies like RocknRolla and Bronson.
Also returning on the film is another Academy Award winner Christian Bale (The Fighter) as Batman. Little is known about the third entry of the batman trilogy as the people behind the film series which has already grossed more a billion dollars at the box office worldwide are keeping their mouths shut. But Batman is said to have multiple enemies with Bane and Catwoman. Anne Hathaway was chosen to play the feline femme fatale, Selina Kyle. But will Bane break the bat on The Dark Knight Rises? You have to wait for the film to get released as it is set to hit theaters on July 20, 2012.
